The city walls were to resemble the walls of Čáslav in terms of height and width, they were to have cylindrical towers, 3 of which were to stand above the gates where the city entered, and the fourth was to be built above a small gate to the water. In addition, he took a pension from the rychta and promised to give 200 hryvnia from his own chamber.

At the same time, the king apparently ordered the Kutná Hora village to send workers to repair the Čáslav walls. The Čáslav walls formed an oval, reinforced with half-cylindrical towers.

The gates looked like a hole in the wall, the cylindrical tower always standing on its side. The two different solutions of the round tower above the pond differed perhaps because they could be part of a minority monastery. Already in the 13th century, a fence with a lower fortification wall was built, which was a continuation of the moat lining; it was missing only in the section between the fort and the monastery, where protection was provided by a pond.

Five polygonal bastions, similar to those in the camp, have been preserved from the fortifications of the fence; they were probably built at the time when Jan Žižka lived in Čáslav. In front of the fence was a wide strip lined with a wide moat. At the end of the 18th century, the city gates were demolished, but the double strip of walls still existed in 1838. To this day, the remains of a double wall with bastions and the cylindrical so-called Otakar Tower from the late 13th or early 14th century, which was connected to the Brod Gate, are preserved.

The models on this page were sent to us from the Čáslav City Museum.

The Čáslav City Museum provided photographs of the city model (the model was taken for the museum in 2016), which was created according to a view by J. Willenberg from 1602 and a view by J. Hoefnagel from 1617. The model shows the Čáslav district – today's Old Town with the adjacent Suburban Pond and the Vodranty complex. The center of the model is formed by the depiction of today's square of Jan Žižka from Trocnov in the 17th century and with the nearby church of St. Peter and Paul, with a lookout tower. The gate leading from the city, which has not been preserved to this day, is also interesting on the model. However, parts of the walls are preserved to this day, especially around the Evangelical Church and Hus's congregation.
