The East Slovak Museum in Košice is one of the oldest and most important museums in Slovakia. The East Slovak Museum in Košice has three professional departments - the Department of Science, the Department of History and the Department of Art History. Since 1960 he has been publishing the natural science collection Natura Carpatica and since 1969 the social science collection Historica Carpatica. It currently manages more than 500,000 items, a selection of which it presents in five permanent thematic exhibitions. Since 2002, he has been an accredited research institute and in the same year he was awarded the City of Košice Prize. In 2018, the museum received the Museum of the Year 2017 award, which is given by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, and the Monuments and Museums Exhibition of the Year 2017 award.
