The Luxembourg Story
The Luxembourg City History Museum* offers a virtual tour of its exhibition spaces, featuring The Luxembourg Story. Visitors to the link**can explore the museum and read a lot of things from the comfort of their own home.

The exhibition explores the most prominent events of each era that the city of Luxembourg has gone through. Both local and foreign visitors can learn a lot about Luxembourg. The exhibition provides a brief instruction to the history of the city, with a large selection of objects***, photographs, film and audio documents.
The exhibition also includes a section entitled "Looking to the Future", in which the most important issues concerning urban space are discussed. The exhibition features a large 3D model of the contemporary city at a scale of 1:2,500 and, together with a touch table, allows the visitor to immerse themselves in the issues of current and future urbanism.
The scale models displayed at The Luxembourg Story offer visitors a unique and detailed look into the evolution of the city of Luxembourg over the past 1000 years. The models depict the many changes that the city has undergone throughout its history, from the earliest settlements in the tenth century to the present day.
One of the most fascinating aspects of the scale models is how they show the transformation of the city over time. The city has experienced many significant events that have shaped its development, including wars, sieges, changes in sovereignty, and the dismantlement of the fortress. These events have had a profound impact on the city's architecture, infrastructure, and overall layout.
For example, the model may show how the city expanded and grew over time, with new buildings and streets being added as the population increased. It may also show how the city's fortifications were strengthened and expanded during times of war, or how they were dismantled during times of peace.
The scale models are accompanied by informative displays that provide additional context and historical information about the city's development. Visitors can learn about the various rulers and powers that have held sway over the city, as well as the major events that have shaped its history.
Every scale model was made during 1993-1996 for the opening of Luxembourg City History Museum. Only exception is model of the city today, which was made in 2017.
