PÍSEK
Step back in time and discover the captivating beauty of Pisek in the year 1812 through the meticulously crafted museum model, showcasing the town's rich history and culture.
Explore the immersive museum model and experience the charm of early 19th century Pisek, offering a unique glimpse into the town's architecture and daily life.
The predecessor of the town was a settlement of the area where gold was panned. This area became a market village with the royal court. In year 1254, King Ottokar II founded here a royal town. The town grew during his reign and its importance highly increased. There was a castle built above the Otava river and a famous Písek Stone Bridge was built (the oldest preserved bridge in the Czech Republic).
During the Hussite Wars, Písek was conquered by Hussites. During the Thirty Years' War, the town was conquered and most if its inhabitant killed by the army of Count of Bucquoy.

The Písek Musum did not provide photographs or information about the model. So I had to found the model on the Internet, as in the case of the Český Krumlov model. The model depicts the town of Písek in 1812 and is on display in the Prácheň Museum in Písek.
