Soběslav is a town located in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. The first historical mention of the town dates back to the 13th century, when it was known as "Zobyslaw". During the Hussite Wars in the 15th century, Soběslav was occupied by the Hussite forces and later became part of the Bohemian Crown lands. In the 16th century, the town became known for its brewery and the production of quality beer.

During the Thirty Years' War in the 17th century, Soběslav was badly damaged and depopulated. It was only in the 19th century that the town began to recover and prosper, with the establishment of new industries and the construction of a railway line connecting Soběslav to Prague and Vienna.

Today, Soběslav is a small, picturesque town with a population of around 6,000 people. It is known for its historic center, which includes the Gothic Church of St. Nicholas, the Renaissance-style town hall, and the Baroque-style castle. The town also hosts a number of cultural events throughout the year, including the Soběslav Fair and the Student Film Festival.

Photographs of a model of the town of Soběslav (before the glazing process) were sent from the Rosenberg House (Soběslav), which captures the appearance of the town during the reign of the last Rosenbergs (Petr Vok of Rosenberg) – early 17th century.

The visitor can see the usual buildings and 30 specific buildings, which are described in the attached document (among them, for example, the House of Peter Vok, the Church of St. Vitus, the Bechyně Gate...). The size of the model is 170 x 170 cm and today it is displayed in a glass display case. The whole model was created in 2015 by modeller Petr Brabec from Hořice na Šumavě and is the property of the town of Soběslav.
